Our mission is to empower cancer patients, care partners, and other loved ones through education and advocacy, helping them find the right treatments and the right healthcare teams at the right time. 

Patient Power fills a vital role:  We supply unbiased educational information to more than 250,000 cancer patients a month. Our content features top medical experts from some of the world’s leading medical institutions, dedicated advocates, and inspiring, knowledgeable patients, and care partners. Typically, and uniquely, programs are hosted by patients themselves and are always produced from the perspective of the patient.

Contract Opportunity – Email & Subscriber Marketing

Do you have deep experience in marketing methodologies and email marketing standards and a proven track record in creating and running strategic email campaigns to maximize reach, engagement & conversion? Patient Power has a newly designed 3-month 100% remote, contract role that may transition towards a regular, full time position.

Position Description: 

In this role, you are responsible for managing our email marketing strategy and tactics. We are seeking someone with deep knowledge of email platforms, best practices, HTML and CSS development. Strong communication skills, including copywriting and editing and advanced knowledge of Excel are essential. Experience managing subscriber lists and marketing automation tools (i.e. Mailchimp, HubSpot) is also necessary. SEO knowledge is a bonus.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Create and schedule effective strategic email campaigns in alignment with the newsletter calendar and specific deadlines.
  • Write and edit compelling headlines, marketing copy and short descriptions summarizing eNewsletter articles to encourage readers to visit the site.
  • Curate published website content and events for eNewsletters across multiple health topics.
  • Work with the Graphics Department to obtain and insert imagery and graphic elements.
  • Place paid/sponsored ads in eNewsletters and route for approval.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing Manager and others to promote new subscriber campaigns and publish newsletters online.
  • Perform effective QA (Quality Assurance) to ensure exceptional rendering, functionality, personalization, and targeting in all Patient Power email communications.
  • Receive and respond to subscriber inquiries and issues of concern.
  • Manage subscriber records in MailChimp.
  • Leverage marketing conversion techniques for lead-nurture campaigns.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of email campaigns using industry-standard measurements like CTR and open rate, subscriber counts by health topic, geography, and profile data.

Advisory Panel Program Manager – Part-Time, Contract, Remote

Our newly formed advisory panel consists of a diverse blend of cancer patients, care partners, clinicians, and community advocates. The panel seeks to make an impact on the quality of life, therapies, treatments, and disease outcomes of cancer patients by providing insight and feedback to our team on what is important to patients and care partners in each cancer condition community.  Additionally, these advisors may serve as program hosts, social media influencers, bloggers, and bring to bear other skills and expertise they may have to expand and enrich Patient Power’s reach and impact.

Patient Power seeks a mission-driven program manager with healthcare industry experience to leverage and optimize the impact of the advisory panel.

Among other things, you will:

  • Align advisory panel activities and events to support Patient Power’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate opportunities for panel input and influence: leveraging panel relationships, subject matter expertise, and commitment to improving the patient experience.
  • Conduct regular meetings/calls with advisors to keep them updated on Patient Power developments; manage advisor reporting and regularly evaluate advisor contributions, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of treatments and clinical trial developments in the cancer community.
  • Utilize a contact management system to maintain current, accurate records.

Here’s what we seek in an ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus several years’ experience in the healthcare environment or field. 
  • Experience leading programs or projects of strategic significance within the healthcare field.
  • Professional experience interfacing with patients, caregivers, and clinicians.
  • Fundamental understanding of treatments, therapies, and drugs prescribed for cancer conditions, and lifestyle, mindfulness, and diet opportunities.
  • Keen understanding of disease markers. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Technical savvy and familiarity with facilitating video meetings and driving social media activity. 
  • Excellent grasp of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility, with the ability to meet with colleagues and advisory panel members at various times that may not be consistent with a set schedule.

Digital Content Producer – 100% Remote

Patient Power is seeking a full-time Digital Content Producer to create timely, engaging, and dynamic content consistent with our mission. You’ll need solid digital production skills and creative storytelling experience to produce content that educates and enlightens within a fast-paced content landscape. Composure, ability to direct others, interpersonally savvy, and an organized approach will be key to success. This position expands our reach and brand as we continue to grow as a global, authoritative resource supporting cancer patients, care partners, and other loved ones through education and advocacy.

Among other things, you will:

  • Research and produce stories to educate Patient Power audiences (including Patients, Care Partners, and Sponsors).
  • Foster collaboration and coordinate input and review across functional teams including business development, content production, web publishing, and marketing.
  • Evolve existing program builds and processes to expedite future program launches.
  • Manage communication pertaining to creative content delivery, timeline considerations, approvals, and next steps in a polished, professional manner that reflects the Patient Power brand and values.
  • Strategically and tactfully communicate deliverables, red flags, and accountability for next steps with thoughtful timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Anticipate issues with complex launch deliverables before they arise, and problem solve through scalable, repeatable solutions, and processes.
  • Assure that reporting to sponsors meets contractual requirements.
  • Consult with Key Opinion Patient Leaders for input on content.
  • Manage and prioritize production and design requests.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and deliverables.

Here’s what we seek in an ideal candidate:

  • Experience producing content for a variety of digital platforms, including social media channels.
  • Working familiarity with videography, podcasting, and non-linear editing.  
  • Proven project management experience; has used project management software such as Basecamp and Asana. 
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Professional experience in and deep understanding of digital project management.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).  
  • Excellent grasp of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
