Patient Power (www.patientpower.info) is a health-based educational website that provides knowledge, confidence, and hope to cancer patients and their families, so that they achieve better health and a sense of well-being. Our mission is to empower cancer patients, care partners, and other loved ones through education and advocacy, helping them find the right treatments and the right healthcare teams at the right time. 

Patient Power fills a vital role:  We supply unbiased educational information to more than 250,000 cancer patients a month. Our content features top medical experts from some of the world’s leading medical institutions, dedicated advocates, and inspiring, knowledgeable patients and care partners. Typically, and uniquely, programs are hosted by patients themselves and are always produced from the perspective of the patient.

Contract Opportunity - Email & Subscriber Marketing

Position Summary

Do you have deep experience in marketing methodologies and email marketing standards and a proven track record in creating and running strategic email campaigns to maximize reach, engagement & conversion? Patient Power has a 3-month (this role may develop into a full-time staff position), 100% remote, contract role to handle the following:

  • Create, test, and execute strategic email campaigns.
  • Curate published content for eNewsletters across multiple health topics.
  • Write copy blocks summarizing articles and optimizing for SEO.
  • Place paid/sponsored ads in newsletters.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing Manager and others to promote new subscriber campaigns and publish newsletters online.
  • Participate in the QA process to ensure effective rendering, functionality, personalization, and targeting in email communications.
  • Report on and analyze subscriber counts by health topic, geography and profile data.
  • Receive and respond to subscriber inquiries and issues of concern.
  • Leverage marketing conversion techniques for lead-nurture campaigns.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of email campaigns using industry-standard measurements like CTR and open rate.

We’re seeking someone with deep knowledge of email platforms, best practices, HTML and CSS development. Strong communication skills including copywriting and editing and advanced knowledge of Excel are essential. Experience working with marketing automation tools (i.e. Mailchimp, Hubspot) is also necessary.

Social Media Marketing Manager

Strategic · Action-Oriented · Connected · Analytical

This newly designed position leads social media strategy and execution to expand Patient Power’s reach and brand as the company as a global, authoritative resource supporting cancer patients, care partners and other loved ones through education and advocacy.

Among other things, you’ll handle these responsibilities :

  • Create and drive a marketing plan to include differentiated strategy across all channels to grow our social reach and conversions.
  • Grow reach and engagement across all social channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Partner with Senior Marketing Manager to create, test and execute campaigns that drive event registration, web site traffic, membership growth and sponsored program goals.
  • Analyze campaign results and turn data into concise, actionable analytics and recommendations.
  • Manage survey creation, collection & reporting.
  • Schedule posts across all social media channels using designated automated marketing platform.
  • Place paid/sponsored ads across social media to drive key CTAs and measure effectiveness.
  • Manage influencer marketing strategy to increase reach.
  • Run A/B tests across social and share insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and gather appropriate responses and moderate online comments.

Ideal qualifications we seek in a candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field plus at least 3 years’ related experience in marketing methodologies and social media platforms including Facebook and Facebook paid advertising, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Experience creating strategic marketing plans with measurable deliverables.
  • Experience moderating social media comments and feedback.
  • A proven track record in running online campaigns to maximize reach, engagement & conversion
  • Strong communication skills including copywriting and editing.
  • The ability to identify high-potential segments and tailor messaging to fit them
  • Capable of identifying what’s worked well in the past and iterating, but also comfortable ideating and implementing brand new ideas from scratch
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel to include advanced formulas and data management, Vlookups, graphs and pivot tables.

Digital Content Producer - 100% Remote

  • Are you a creative storyteller with experience producing content for a variety of digital platforms?
  • Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your work positively impacts the lives of others?

Patient Power seeks a Digital Content Producer who will create timely, engaging, and dynamic content consistent with our mission. You’ll need solid digital production skills and storytelling experience to produce content that educates and enlightens within a fast-paced content landscape.

Among other things, you’ll handle these responsibilities :

  • Research, write, and capture visual/audio stories for multiple platforms to educate Patient Power audiences (including Patients, Care Partners, and Sponsors).

  • Foster collaboration and coordinate input and review across functional teams including business development, content production, web publishing and marketing and promotion to help ensure that the content resonates with cancer patient communities.

  • Serve as a creative storyteller, skilled at interviewing and guiding other interviewers to produce satisfying content of interest to very targeted audiences.

  • Evolve existing program builds and processes to expedite future program launches.

  • Manage communication pertaining to creative content delivery, timeline considerations, approvals and next steps in a polished, professional manner that reflects the Patient Power brand and values.

  • Strategically and tactfully communicate deliverables, red flags and accountability for next steps with thoughtful timelines to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Anticipate issues with complex launch deliverables before they arise, and problem solve through scalable, repeatable solutions and processes.

Ideal qualifications we seek in a candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus several years’ experience producing content for a variety of digital platforms, including social media channels, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Working familiarity with videography, podcasting, and non-linear editing.

  • Proven project management experience; has used project management software such as Basecamp and Asana. 

  • Experience in the healthcare industry.

  • Professional experience in and deep understanding of digital project management.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). 

  • Excellent grasp of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
