Patient Power Perspective: Plugged In to the News

There are so many issues in the news today that impact the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones—cost of care, access to new treatments, insurance coverage and healthcare legislation…the list goes on.  As the curators and representatives of the growing patient and care partner community that looks to Patient Power for education, resources and a variety of other support, we feel it is time to more strongly get our collective voices heard where we might have some impact.  Our goal is to help get patients the very best care, in a timely fashion, at a minimized cost—in a system that puts patients first. 

The uncertainty over healthcare created by Washington is unnerving, even threatening to patients who depend on insurance for care. Who can afford the massive hospital bills, doctor bills and costs of prescription drugs without insurance? Read more in our latest perspective.
