Dr. Bruce E. Johnson is Chief Clinical Research Officer and Institute Physician at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Johnson is also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. After earning his MD from the University of Minnesota, he completed his postgraduate training at the University of Chicago and the National Cancer Institute. While at NCI, Dr. Johnson headed the Lung Cancer Biology Section before joining Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where he currently leads the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Lung Cancer Program and the Center for Cancer Genomics.
Among his more recent accolades, he received ASCO’s Cancer Foundation Translational Research Professorship between 2003 – 2013; Dr. Johnson is a recipient of the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer Scientific Award, as well as the American Association for Cancer Research Team Science Award. He was named the 2012 Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), was named a member of the Association of American Physicians in 2015, and served as President of ASCO for the 2018-2019 term.
Dr. Johnson is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.
