Read the latest articlesDr. David Odell is a thoracic and cardiac surgeon with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, specializing in the treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other thoracic malignancies. He also concentrates on benign disorders including GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and hiatal hernias. Dr. Odell has a particular interest in minimally invasive approaches to surgical treatment of these conditions. He earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He also attended Harvard Medical School, rounding out his training, including Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Odell completed general surgery residencies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Virginia Mason Medical Center. He also completed fellowships in Thoracic Surgery were completed at the University of Minnesota and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
