Read the latest articlesFrederick J. "Rick" Ross, III, was diagnosed with AML, secondary to MDS, at age 51. Rick received treatment from 2003 through 2007, and underwent a stem cell transplant. He feels he put his life in the “right” doctors, who made the “right” medical decisions that enable him to talk about his journey, in the hope that his experience might encourage just one patient to “press-on, ask one more question, persevere, and walk victoriously toward the rewarding and productive life that awaits AFTER leukemia.” Rick volunteers for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), supporting other patients and their care partners. His advice for other patients? “Believe in your doctor, even when the road gets choppy.”
