Dr. Schnabel's clinical and research interests focus on breast cancer risk assessment, risk-reduction strategies, and the refinement of breast surgical techniques. She has expanded her research efforts into the genetics of breast cancer and other risk factors for breast cancer. She oversees breast cancer research and prospective databases that collect important clinical data and outcomes for breast cancer patients at Perlmutter Cancer Center. She is also the co-founder and co-medical director of the International Society of Cancer Risk Assessment and Management (ISC-RAM), which is a multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary effort to advance the field of cancer risk assessment and promote effective strategies for education, surveillance, and cancer risk reduction.
