Gina served as a labor and delivery nurse and clinical director off a free prenatal clinic care in Memphis, Tennessee. After taking an MRI in 2015, Gina learned that she had stage four non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In 2016, she had surgery to remove the tumor in her brain and radiation therapy following the surgery. Since then, the cancer has reemerged many times and Gina has tried a variety of treatments. Her experiences have made her a lung cancer screening advocate as she wants to advocate and help others with cancer. Gina currently serves as the president and a member of a support group at ALK Positive which has garnered over 2,000 members. She wants to spread hope and lift people up to get them through their own cancer journey.
