Dr. Jackie Broadway-Duren is a full-time family nurse practitioner at The University of MD Anderson Cancer Center who has been dedicated to the Department of Leukemia for 17 years. Throughout her 17-year tenure, Dr. Broadway-Duren's predominant focus of her work resides within the realm of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) care. Dr. Broadway-Duren, a passionate and driven student, pursued the highest level of education for nursing and completed her doctoral degree (DNP) in 2014 at The University of Texas Health Science Center. As a patient care provider, Dr. Broadway-Durenassists, monitors and educates her patients on their disease, treatment modalities, laboratory results and more. She also works closely with research nurses and collaborates with community providers to help ensure her patients receive optimal care. Dr. Broadway-Duren exercises her commitment to the future of cancer care by providing mentorship for other nurse practitioners and physician assistants and community education on cancer and disease prevention, and currently serves as the Chairperson for the MD Anderson Leadership Committee.
