Dr. James Rubenstein is a Professor at UCSF School of Medicine and a hematologist-oncologist who specializes in treating patients with neurologic complications from cancer, including patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma involving the brain (central nervous system (CNS)) lymphoma as well as patients with cancer that has spread to the brain. He earned a medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency in internal medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Rubenstien earned a PhD in molecular and cellular neurosciences at Rockefeller University and served a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF, which included training in neuro-oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Association of Cancer Research.
