Dr. Javier Munoz is a hematologist/oncologist at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. Dr. Munoz completed his residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at Henry Ford Health System in Michigan before completing an investigational cancer therapeutics fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
He is triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology and has published in the major nationally and internationally renowned journals within his field as Blood, the American Journal of Hematology, Nature Reviews and JAMA. Dr. Munoz is an expert in treating patients with lymphoma and envisions precision targeted medicine to ultimately help patients achieve a cure.
His clinical interests are in drug development of non-chemotherapy targeted agents via novel clinical trials.
