Born in Taiwan, R.O.C. but raised in Northern Baltimore County Maryland, Judy Wang obtained her undergraduate degree at the Johns Hopkins University in biomedical engineering. She then earned her MD at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, and trained in internal medicine at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. She ultimately returned home to Baltimore to complete her medical oncology fellowship training at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It was during her oncology experience that she truly gained her appreciation and passion for clinical trials and novel drug therapeutics. Following her training, she joined the Drug Development Unit at the Florida Cancer Specialists/Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Sarasota, Fla., the largest strategic site for oncology clinical trials of the Sarah Cannon Research Institute. Her group is tasked with conducting early phase oncology clinical trials, of which Sarah Cannon Research Institute has been integral in nearly 80 percent of approved cancer treatments in the past 10 years. She currently lives in Sarasota, Fla., and outside of work, enjoys running, yoga, cooking and playing with her Pomeranian dog, Yogi.
