Read the latest articlesLinda Weiser was diagnosed with CLL in April, 2010 after a routine CBC draw showed an elevated white cell count. Linda was hospitalized with pneumonia in 2012 and she knew treatment was coming as her immune system was compromised. She started treatment in January of 2013, taking part in a clinical trial at Moffitt Cancer Center--the HiLog trial--under her current doctor, Dr. Javier Pinilla-Ibarz. Linda had her last treatment in November of 2013, achieved partial response, and started on revlimid until it stopped working after a few years. After the clinical trial ended she started radiation treatment for basal cell skin cancer. She is currently taking Imbruvica (ibrutinib) daily for maintenance. Linda loves to fish and enjoys her current hobby of photography and being outdoors. She wants to give a special thanks to her father for the countless hours he spent online researching CLL before her treatment. She says that her father "has been her rock through this whole journey."
