Dr. Liza Villaruz is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Notre Dame and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Villaruz completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is a Hematology/Oncology Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Her research focuses on the evaluation and management of lung cancer via novel targeted agents. Dr. Villaruz is board certified in internal medicine as well as medical oncology and hematology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and is an invited reviewer for medical journals such as Lung Cancer and Oncology Research.
