Lorraine was diagnosed with polycythemia vera (PV) in 2015 at the age of 43 after experiencing fatigue and migraine headaches. After some research, Lorraine found Dr. Srdan Verstovsek for a second opinion and met with him in September 2015. The PV diagnosis was confirmed through a bone marrow biopsy. Lorraine currently takes only a baby aspirin and is closely monitored by a partnership with Dr. Verstovsek and her local hematologist. Her prognosis for the future is positive. Lorraine lives in Wimberley, Texas, with her husband Matt and 12 children.
