Matt Goldman, from Long Beach, California is a multiple myeloma patient and hopes to help fund efforts to help find a cure and to support other patients. In early 2011 after experiencing extreme fatigue and difficulty getting a deep breath, Matt visited his doctor and was tested for various diseases. It wasn’t until May 2, 2011, after experiencing severe anemia, fevers, night sweats and chills when he was finally diagnosed with multiple myeloma and started chemo the next day. Six years after diagnosis when he was in his early 50s, he is still undergoing treatment, but his cancer is stable. Matt recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to prove to himself that he is still capable of taking on big challenges and to raise funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
