I grew up in Cali, Colombia, South America, where I attended Medical School at the Universidad del Valle. I completed my Internal Medicine residency and was Chief Resident at Maricopa Medical Center and the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona. I did a Hematology /Oncology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and after that, joined the faculty at the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy in Little Rock, Arkansas.
I was there for 5 years and then moved to the Susquehanna Cancer Center, now the UPMC, in Williamsport, PA. Subsequently, I did a Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship at Mount Sinai in New York and after that joined the faculty of Levine Cancer Institute, where I have been for over 3 years, involved in patient care and clinical research.
When there is no pandemic travel restriction, I enjoy traveling with family.
