Lung Cancer Patient Advocate

Ros Miller is a wife, mother to Jared, Daniel and Jillian, a military spouse, volunteer and lung cancer advocate. As a military spouse, Ros volunteered for numerous organizations including the Heidelberg Officer & Women’s Club, Education 2020, and family support during the first Gulf War.  She was named “Docent of the Year” for the Florida Holocaust Museum. For six years, Ros was a leader and team captain of a 3-day breast cancer walking team. In 2012 her daughter was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, passing away in May 2013 at age 29. Ros turned her tremendous loss and grief into an organization called Jillian’s Dream to raise awareness and needed funds for lung cancer research. She participated with the Lung Cancer Alliance’s 7th National Summit, Lung Force panel and is a new member of the Lung and Thoracic Tumor Education Council through Moffitt Cancer Center.
