Sandi Spivey has been involved in many local and national breast cancer organizations since her stage II diagnosis in 1995 at age 42. Three years later, after being diagnosed with metastatic stage IV breast cancer in her bones, she began her quest to learn more about the science of breast cancer so she could influence research priorities. Sandi has participated side by side with scientists and oncologists on over two dozen peer review panels for breast cancer research projects. She is a member of both the Komen Advocates in Science Steering and Metastatic Breast Cancer Advisory Committee, and is also a member of UC Irvine’s Breast Disease Orientation Team.
