Tina Sapienza is a licensed social worker with a certificate in oncology practice with more than 20 years of experience working with patients with cancer and their families. She is an oncology social worker at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. In this capacity, she has worked as part of the multi-disciplinary team, which includes medical oncologists, nurses, nutritionists and research coordinators with a diverse population of patients and their caregivers. Tina provides psychosocial assessments, supportive counseling for patients and family members, and referrals to community programs. She facilitates a number of support groups for patients and family members dealing with cancer.
