Dr. William Nassib William, Jr. is an assistant professor in the Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His focus is on translational research including blood and tissue-based biomarkers. Dr. William earned his degree in medicine from the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo in Brazil, also completing his residency in internal medicine while there. He completed his clinical fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Hospital Sirio-Libanes in Sao Paulo and his clinical fellowship in Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. William has authored over 90 peer-reviewed original research articles, invited articles, abstracts, book chapters, manuals, teaching aids and other teaching publications. He currently serves as the principal investigator of clinical trials investigating the role of EGFR and/or IGF-1R-targeted agents in head and neck cancers. Dr. William is board certified in Internal Medicine by the Brazilian Society of Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of completion of fellowship in Medical Oncology and Specialist in Medical Oncology by the National Committee of Medical Residency of Brazil.
