Dr. William Plunkett is a professor in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics in the Division of Cancer Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in therapeutic research at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Plunkett then went on to serve in a research associate position in microbiology at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
His research involvement focuses on the development of novel therapeutics engineered from cellular responses to DNA damage, and Dr. Plunkett has concentrated his research efforts with his colleagues in the Department of Leukemia at MD Anderson.
