Patient Power co-founder and two-time cancer survivor Andrew Schorr will be speaking at Precision Medicine World Conference in Mountain View (Silicon Valley, California) on January 24th. Andrew will be part of the panel Precision Medicine + Patients: A New Model, discussing the initiative Precision Medicine For Me, which was started by a group of patient organizations, advocates, startups, and industry leaders – including Patient Power. The initiative aims to help ensure that lung cancer patients have access to next-generation tumor testing and the latest treatment options. The goal is to address other therapeutic areas in the near future.
"If you don’t ask for and have the correct genetic testing, you may end up receiving standard chemotherapy. Advocating for yourself can save your life or give you more healthy years,” says Andrew. “Precision Medicine for Me (precisionmedicinefor.me) has a team of people standing by to provide free support and resources to any patient in need.”
Andrew will be joined in the session by Dr. Larry Saltzman, Executive Research Director of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS); Dr. Tony Blau, multiple myeloma patient and founder and CEO of All4Cure; and Dr. Mohit Trikha, Vice President, Head of Oncology Early Development at AbbVie.
