In 2011, Bettina Ryll's husband was diagnosed with melanoma stage IV and he died less a year after the diagnosis. As a trained scientist, Bettina never imagined she would end up advocating for patient rights, but life turned out to be different. In this video, Bettina talks about how she became a patient advocate.
Bettina Ryll is the Chair of Melanoma Patient Network Europe (MPNE) and the Chair of the ESMO Patient Advocates Working Group. This interview was recorded at the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) congress held in Madrid (September 2017).
