Breast Cancer and Mental Health

The toll that breast cancer has on an individual goes well beyond what the disease does physically. There is also a mental toll, which can be caused by a variety of factors, including body image concerns and COVID-19 anxiety. Listen in as health journalist and patient advocate Loriana Hernandez-Aldama guides this discussion with breast cancer survivors Carrie Kreiswirth and Carrie Anderson on living with breast cancer, and the impact COVID-19 has had on each of them in the wake of information shared at this year’s San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS). They also react to the latest news about chemotherapy, open up about how they view their bodies today, and share advice for those just embarking on this difficult journey.

Please remember the opinions expressed on Patient Power are not necessarily the views of our sponsors, contributors, partners or Patient Power. Our discussions are not a substitute for seeking medical advice or care from your own doctor. That’s how you’ll get care that’s most appropriate for you.
